The Williams Family

Supporting families during difficult times

MaKenna Cares Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2023 in memory of Makenna Williams, is dedicated to supporting families of severely ill children in the Central Texas Region. Our work is not just about providing assistance, but about fostering a sense of community and understanding among these families.

Families of severely ill children experience physical, mental, and financial obstacles every day. Through personal experience with our daughter Makenna Williams, born June 19, 2019, being a medical advocate and caregiver for our child was our #1 priority. From 100+ nights in NICU facilities in Temple, Austin, and Houston to commuting to some of the world’s best doctors, we witnessed the favor of various non-profit organizations. Small tokens such as gift cards, room and board for a night, or a hot meal gave us the hope to continue the journey.

Our goal is to raise consistent funds, contribute annually to the Ronald McDonald House, and extend a grain of hope to the next wave of families who will begin the long journey.

Our Vision

“At MaKenna Cares Foundation, we envision a future where families of severely ill children in the Central Texas Region find strength, support, and hope in their darkest moments. Inspired by the journey of our beloved Makenna Williams, born in 2019, we strive to create a community where no family faces the daunting challenges of illness alone. Our vision is to cultivate a network of compassion, where every child and caregiver receives the essential resources and assistance they need to navigate their medical journey with dignity and resilience. Through our unwavering commitment, we aspire to light the path forward, fostering a brighter tomorrow for all those touched by adversity.”
